A resource guide for those supporting a loved one through Eating Disorder recovery. Includes warning signs, questions and data for supporters, insights, journaling questions, diagnostic information, dos and don’ts, important truths and harmful myths, tips for putting together a treatment team, and more! When families and friends find themselves in this challenging situation of walking a loved one through ED recovery, it can be hard to know where to start. This is a great place to start. There is so much information on the internet, much of it confusing, unhelpful, scary and/or false. This is curated information from a therapist who has been in the field professionally for 10+ years and supported a loved one through recovery before that. I included everything I wish I had known at the beginning of my own process of providing support.
This guided journal is for anyone with a body and some interest in understanding and improving their relationship with their body! It includes prompts aimed at helping a person feel more connected to their body, work as a team and in harmony with their body, and be able to live more free from any negative connotations they may have about their body. Your relationship with your body is the longest and most important relationship you will have, and it will not be the same after working through this journal. The guided prompts allow you to really take an important look at these topics and shift perspectives in ways that will help you to live more wholly.
This is the perfect addition to a journey you may have already been walking with your body OR a great place to start!
